On Thursday, May 25, St. Raphael Orthodox Church (722 E. College St., Iowa City) will host the vocal ensemble Lyra for a 7:30 pm concert. Lyra hails from St. Petersburg, Russia, and most of the singers studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatoire. They will perform some sublime and soaring Russian sacred music along with some spirited Russian folk music, complete with traditional costumes. St. Raphael’s beautiful acoustics will enhance what is sure to be an excellent performance. Admission free; suggested donation $20–35 adult / $10–15 student/senior. Refreshments to follow.

This event is sponsored by the UI chapter of Orthodox Christian Fellowship.
