Science Cafe: Zika Virus and Birth Defects

Speaker: Paul Romitti

Speaker Bio: 

Paul Romitti is a Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Iowa College of Public Health. Paul’s research interests include behavioral and environmental epidemiology of congenital and inherited disorders.

In 2016 Paul Romitti and the UI College of Public Health were selected by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to research and detect microcephaly, a serious birth defect of the brain, that can be caused by the Zika Virus.
