Ma Thida is a Burmese human rights activist\, surgeon\, writer\, and former prisoner of conscience whom Jen met when Ma Thida was a Writer in Residence in the University's International Writing Program. Jen is a first-year MFA candidate at the University of Iowa Center for the Book. "place + Trust" runs through Friday\, Feb. 17.
