"The Spin Connection in Thomas-Whitehead Gravity" by Mr. Samuel Brensinger, Department of Mathematics, The University of Iowa
Abstract: In general relativity, two spacetime connection have the same family of geodesic curves (up to reparametrization), if and only if, the connections are related by a projective transformation. Indeed, the theory of general relativity determines the geometry of spacetime only up to this projective symmetry. Thomas-Whitehead gravity is a theory of gravitation which takes advantage of projective invariance by introducing a dynamical field called the diffeomorphism field. We investigate some properties fo the Thomas-Whitehead connection applied to vectors, arbitrary tensors, and spinors.
