To celebrate International Education Week, join Rita Guzmán (18BBA) as she shares how her experience at Iowa and teaching English in Portugal through the Fulbright Program led to a career in study abroad.

The University of Iowa marketing graduate works in the internships division at IES Abroad, a nonprofit organization that educates students to become global leaders through premier study abroad and internship programs. As a student, Guzmán studied abroad in London and worked as a radio host in the IES Dublin Summer Internship Program, which sparked her interest in international education.

She also worked for the UI Study Abroad office and Henry B. Tippie College of Business as a program ambassador, diversity ambassador, peer mentor, and outreach assistant. Proficient in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, Guzmán develops outreach strategies to maximize inclusion and underrepresented students in IES internship programs.

Russell Ganim, the associate provost and dean of the UI’s International Programs, will host the online session.

Registration is required and space is limited for this online session.
