Attributing Value to Attributes During Value-Based Decision-Making
Most models of preference-based decisions are based on neuroeconomics views, which hold that choices are made by computing and comparing the overall value of different options. In this talk, I will discuss our recent work that demonstrates neural and behavioral evidence favoring alternatives to this framework. I will focus primarily on multi-attribute decision-making, its neural substrates in the orbitofrontal cortex, and potential roles of visual attention.
