"Longitudinal causal modeling: Exploring treatment initiation timing and its effects on outcomes"

Abstract: This talk presents groundbreaking research in longitudinal causal modeling, focusing on the intricate dynamics of treatment timing and its consequential impacts on patient outcomes. Our first study delves into the challenges of modeling changes in outcomes over time, especially in the context of biomedical studies with longitudinal data. We address the variability and complexities introduced by interventions occurring at various times, emphasizing the need to adjust for time-to-intervention in modeling outcome trajectories. The second part of the presentation extends this inquiry to a broader spectrum, exploring the causal effects of treatment timing. We confront the challenges posed by varied initiation times, patient heterogeneity, and confounding variables. Our stratified approach, which segments subjects by initiation times, offers a nuanced understanding of causal relationships.

Meet and Greet at 3:00 pm in 241 SH. Colloquium at 3:30 pm in 61 SH.
