Writing and Publishing Career Trek

Join the Pomerantz Career Center on an overnight visit to the Chicago area to meet with employers in the writing and publishing industries!

We will be visiting the following organizations:

1. Cottage Door Press: Cottage Door Press is a dynamic children’s book publisher dedicated to creating engaging, high-quality content that inspires young readers and provides innovative opportunities for writers and publishing professionals.

2. The Chicago Tribune: The Chicago Tribune is a leading metropolitan newspaper renowned for its in-depth journalism and comprehensive coverage, offering aspiring writers and media professionals a vibrant platform for storytelling and career growth in a dynamic newsroom environment.

3. Sourcebooks, LLC: Sourcebooks is an innovative and diverse publishing company known for its wide range of books, from bestsellers to fresh new voices, offering aspiring writers and publishing professionals a creative environment to shape impactful stories and drive industry trends.

Trek Logistics:

- There is a $75 fee to attend this trek to help with transportation, lodging, and meal costs.

- Transportation is provided to and from Chicago (anticipated 8 a.m. departure on 10/16 and 7 p.m. return on 10/17)

- Students will be sharing rooms with one other student. You will be asked for rooming preferences when registering.

-Students should plan to bring additional spending money for anything they would like to purchase on the drive (snacks, etc.) and one lunch.
