Teaching Science Amidst Social Controversy; Evolution, Climate Change, Energy

This is a free interactive workshop for UI faculty and graduate student instructors, and K-12 science teachers on the principles of effective teaching about scientific topics that generate public controversy. It focuses specifically on climate change, fracking, and evolutionary theory. It is sponsored by Iowa City Darwin Day as part of the annual celebration of Darwin's birthday. Currently licensed K-12 teachers who attend all Iowa City Darwin Day events can register for one unit of continuing education credit through the GWAEA.
